 1 – What are the minimum degree requirements for applying to the LL.M. Law in a European and Global Context?

You must have a basic law degree (LL.B., Licenciatura, J.D., or equivalent). If you are in your final year of law studies, you must obtain the degree no later than September of the year in which you intend to enroll.

 2 – What are the required application materials?

  • Online application form
  • 2 Letters of recommendation (in English or in Portuguese)
  • Official transcripts from schools attended (in English or in Portuguese);
  • Curriculum Vitae (in English) with dates and lengths of employment (maximum two pages long)
  • Official letter of dispatch for students sponsored by corporations or other organizations
  • Official TOEFL / IELTS score report, or certificate.
  • Copy of Identity Card or Passport
  • 2 Photos

 3 – What is the minimum TOEFL / IELTS score required?

The minimum TOEFL score required is 100 on the internet-based test (IBT) or 600 on the paper-based test (PBT).

The minimum IELTS score required is 7.0 on a 9 point scale (overall score).

Applicants with excellent qualifications and lower scores may be considered.

 4 – What is the deadline for applying?

You may submit your application at any time.

 5 – When will I receive a decision on my application?

We issue decisions on a rolling basis. Most applicants receive the decision within 4-6 weeks after the application has been submitted.

You must have a basic law degree (LL.B., Licenciatura, J.D., or equivalent) and some years of professional experience in the field of law.

 2 – What are the required application materials?

  • Online application form
  • 2 Letters of recommendation (in English or in Portuguese)
  • Official transcripts from schools attended (in English or in Portuguese);
  • Curriculum Vitae (in English) with dates and lengths of employment (maximum two pages long)
  • Official letter of dispatch for students sponsored by corporations or other organizations
  • Official TOEFL / IELTS score report, or certificate.
  • Copy of Identity Card or Passport
  • Copy of Fiscal Identification Number card
  • 2 Photos

 1 – What are the minimum degree requirements for applying to the Global Ph.D Programme?

  • A basic law degree (LL.B., Licenciatura, J.D., or equivalent) or, exceptionally, a degree in a neighboring discipline if your purported research falls at the intersection of law and the discipline in question.
  • A masters degree in law or, exceptionally, a pre-Bologna bachelor degree coupled with an outstanding academic record.
  • Completion of at least one substantial scholarly writing, which may be a master’s thesis or a piece of comparable scope.

 2 – What are the required application materials?

  • Online application form
  • 2 Letters of recommendation (in English or in Portuguese)
  • Official transcripts from schools attended (in English or in Portuguese);
  • Curriculum Vitae (in English) with dates and lengths of employment (maximum two pages long)
  • Personal statement of no more than 1000 words explaining the candidate’s motives to attend the programme.
  • Preliminary research proposal of no more than 3000 words.
  • Substantial piece of scholarly writing, which may be a master’s thesis or a similar piece.
  • Official letter of dispatch for students sponsored by corporations or other organizations
  • Official TOEFL / IELTS score report, or certificate.
  • Copy of Identity Card or Passport
  • Copy of Fiscal Identification Number card
  • 2 Photos
